Mauldin Paving Products is owned and operated by Calder Brothers Corporation. Transformed into a global business, it is now a leader in pavers, motor graders, rollers, asphalt distributors, and other heavy-duty equipment. Four sons followed in the footsteps of their father, Robert Calder, who had previous success with another manufacturing business. Accruing mechanical engineering, economics, marketing, and business expertise, and combining these with Robert’s skills in design, sales, marketing, and management, they built a powerful family business, starting with the purchase of Mauldin Brothers Company in 1994.
The company’s capabilities were built upon by implementing new drilling and mining equipment, as well as a computer system complemented by the latest CNC and CAD systems. These helped to expand Mauldin’s manufacturing capabilities beyond its competitors. Computers became pivotal at tracking the time to fill and ship incoming orders.
